영어 문법 질문: Seen close-up과 For의 쓰임

아래 문장에서 두 가지가 궁금해요.
“A pet theory of mine is that things should be seen from a distance. Seen close-up, things have a way of showing their defects, their innate ugliness. For nothing is so beautiful that it does not betray some defect on close inspection.”
1. “Seen close-up”에는 왜 주어와 동사가 없나요? 해석에는 “가까이에서 본다면”이라고 되어 있어 이해가 잘 안 돼요.
2. 여기서 “For”는 왜 쓰인 건가요?
