There is dancing and singing에서 왜 단수인가요?

공부하다가 “There is laughing and singing and dancing.”과 “There was no tourism and no mass travel.”이라는 문장을 봤어요.
뒤에 두 가지 이상 나오는데 왜 is로 받나요?
“bread and butter”가 버터 바른 빵이라 단수인 건 배웠는데, 이 문장들도 이유가 궁금해요^^
